Land Resources in Ukraine

    The land is a place of living of people, which are concentrated in cities, towns, settlements and do the manufacturing activities on the adjoin territories. As a natural resource, the land is the basic one. Water, air resources, flora and fauna are formulated round it. Besides, land contains mineral resources.

    Land is the source of consumers’ values. When we rejoin it with alive working the process of manufacturing is formed, there created the subject of work, products and goods.

     Last time the land is the object of market relations in Ukraine. That means it can be bought and sold. People input the land payment, taxes, rent etc. This reflects the economic value of land as a good and immovable property.

The main value of land is that it is not the object of the activity of men. Land appeared millions years ago before the existence of men and is a gift for them.

         The whole land territories of Ukraine cover 60.335 thousand hectares, including agricultural territories 41.854 thousand hectares. Fertile arable lands -32, 200000 hectares (55%), hay territories -1966 thousand hectares, pastures – 4.556 thousand hectares.             

        As we see, Ukraine has a high level of assimilation. Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv regions have the largest agricultural territories. On the contrary Chernivtsy, Zakarpattya, Ivano –Frankivsk regions have the smallest ones. The largest arable land territories are concentrated in Dnipropetrovsk and the smallest are in Zakarpattya.

The land-surveying fond of Ukraine consists of lands which are used by: agricultural enterprises, settlements, industry, transport, boarding houses, natural reserves and lands of state supply.
