Land Categories of Ukraine
According to the land code, the lands of Ukraine are divided into the following categories:
Agricultural lands – the lands that people use to produce agricultural products. They implement agricultural scientific and study work, and locate appropriate infrastructure on these lands.
The lands of residential and public development are the parts of land within the settlements that people use to locate houses and buildings, and other public objects.
Natural impenetrable lands are the parts of land and water that contain natural objects of great conservational, ecological, scientific, recreational and other value that, according to the law, have got the status of natural impenetrable objects.
Lands for recreational purposes have got natural medicinal qualities. These lands are used or can be used to prevent diseases and cure people.
Recreational purpose lands are used to organize relaxation of people. It is also the place for tourism and sporting events.
Lands for historic-cultural purposes consist of historic-cultural reserve, culture preserves, memorial parks, memorial civic and military graveyards, tombs, historic or memorial estates, houses, ancient burials, fortress ruins, military camps, architectural ensembles, historical districts, squares, park.
Lands for forestry-based purposes contain lands covered in forest vegetation, and the lands that are used for forestry management.
Lands for inventory of water resources are seas, rivers, lakes, storage ponds, other water objects, marshes, and also islands without forest vegetation. Hydrotechnical and other hydroeconomic construction are also the parts of these lands.
Industry, transport, connection, energetics, defense, and other purpose lands are the ground areas given to enterprises, establishments, and organizations for realization of relevant activities.
